Nazrul songs presented at National Museum

Nazrul Sangeet singers entertained the audience rendering popular songs at a music show held at Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Sunday.
The programme, organised by Nazrul Institute, was the sixth show held as part of an initiative to promote Nazrul songs. The institute is holding music shows every Sunday featuring Nazrul Sangeet singers from across the country. A total of eleven music shows will be held.
The programme on Sunday was presided over by national professor and Nazrul Institute trusty board chairman Professor Rafiqul Islam.
Deputy secretary of the institute Mohammad Abdur Rahman and noted Nazrul Sangeet artiste Khairul Anam Shakil spoke at the event.
Following which, leading and upcoming Nazrul singers rendered popular Nazrul songs. Among others, Joseph Komol Rodricks, Sharmin Jahan, Badrunnesa Dalia, Shahid Kabir Polash, Ashok Das and Shamima Parvin Ratna performed at the show.
‘I am fond of Kazi Nazrul Islam and his works. Nazrul has enriched both our literature and music scene with his rich and diverse creations. I thank Nazrul Institute for undertaking the initiative to popularise Nazrul songs,’ an audience member said with satisfaction.
