Renowned artistes from across the country entertained the audience presenting popular songs at Bangabandhu Utsab held at Nandan Mancha of Bangladesh Shilpkala Academy on Friday.
The day-long festival was organised by Bengali Sangskritik Bandhan, a platform of 27 cultural organisations, marking the 99th birth anniversary of country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The day-long festival featured drawing competition, discussion, songs, poem recitation, street play and others.
Bengali Sangskritk Bandhan artistes commenced the programme rendering popular patriotic song Joy bangla banglar joy.
In solos, TuntunBaul rendered Milonhobe koto dine and Latif Shah rendered Bideshinir shathey kew prem koirona.
Besides, Chandana Mazumdar, Abu Bakar Siddique, Airin Gomez, Rina Amin and others performed at the programme.
Poet Quasi Rosy, Afroza Kona and Al Masud Noyon recited poems at the event.
President of Bengali Sangskritik Bandhan Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque presided over the event where the spian Dr Enamul Haq, poet Quasi Rosy and poet Manranjan Ghoshal, among others, were present as special guests.
A large audience enjoyed the festival.
