Prangonemor to stage four plays in eight districts

Theatre troupe Prangonemor is touring eight districts of the country with four of its acclaimed plays.
The troupe will stage Irsha, Condemned Cell, Hasonjaner Raja and Aurangzeb in Dhaka, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Rangpur, Sirajganj, Madaripur and Joypurhat.
The troupe staged Irsha on Tuesday at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). Written by late eminent poet-playwright Syed Shamsul Haq and directed by Ananta Hira, Irsha, a verse play, portrays the inherent feeling of jealousy that every lover is acquainted with.
The play will be staged at Rangpur Town Hall on March 22.
On March 16 and 18, Prangonemor will stage its recent play Hasonjaner Raja at Qamaruzzaman Auditorium in Rajshahi and Cummila Cadet College, Cumilla respectively. Another show of the play will be staged at Sirajganj Bhashani Hall on March 24.
Written by Shakoor Majid and directed by Ananta Hira, the play brings to light the eventful life of the mystic bard through a fictitious meeting between a group of youth and Hason Raja. On March 20, a show of Aurangzeb will be held at Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Hall at Joypurhat.
The troupe will end its tour with two shows of Condemned Cell in Madaripur and Dhaka on March 27 and 28. Condemned Cell depicts atrocity and deceptive activities done by the war criminals through imaginary dialogues. The play has been written and directed respectively by Ananta Hira and Awal Reza.
